Paro Hotels : Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary

Description

Nestled in Neyphu valley, at Shaba in Paro, about 30 minutes drive from Paro international airport, Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary is a 5* establishment offering well-being inclusive programs in an environment where guests and staff feel part of a family.

This Bhutan’s first well-being-inclusive high-end Sanctuary for body, mind, and spirit features 24 rooms:  12 balcony rooms with a beautiful view of the scenic Neyphu valley with rooms having 46m2 of floor space and 8m2 of balcony. The room houses a sitting area with a coffee table, sofa, a comfortable chair while bathrooms have floor heating, a bathtub, a separate walk-in shower and other regular amenities. The other 12 rooms are classified as Terrace rooms and has 54m2 of floor space and an 8m2 terrace with similar amenities as a balcony room.

The Sanctuary has its own greenhouse, vegetable and herb garden and uses as many local products as possible. On a daily basis, guests can enjoy here the dining-inclusive concept. It’s very skilled kitchen team is eager to surprise guests with healthy and tasty breakfasts, 4-course lunches and 6-course dinners whereby a variety of Bhutanese, Western and Indian dishes are served, all in due respect of the guest’s diet or personal preferences. Guests can also enjoy their meals at the time and location of their preference.

Guests of the Sanctuary can make free use of all spa facilities. There are six rustic and elegantly designed treatment rooms.  Its heated, indoor pool is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass doors, providing a magnificent view of the mountains and valley surrounding the Sanctuary. To refresh and rejuvenate after the intense mountain hikes the sanctuary has two saunas and steam rooms. It also has two types of Jacuzzis. The practically designed fitness center provides all the necessary equipment for a daily workout. Part of the spa-inclusive concept is free yoga and meditation classes, individual or in a group, at beginners or advanced level. The classes or sessions can take place in the specially designed yoga studio or in the morning sun on the pool terrace.

The Sanctuary has an interesting library, decorated by a wall covering tapestries of the former Bhutanese Kings, with a varied collection of books and magazines on well-being, meditation, yoga, mindfulness, and traveling. While tea bar in the restaurant offers over 20 herbal-infused teas, each focusing on a different aspect of balance between the body-mind-spirit. The lounge area of the sanctuary is the perfect place for informal gatherings, small events, or freshly brewed tea and homemade cookies to see the sun disappear behind the mountains while relaxing in comfortable sofas and cushions.
