Bumthang is the most easterly located lodge within Six Senses Bhutan and located directly within a pine grove. There is so much to discover in Bumthang, with highlights being the neighbouring Wangdgichhoeling palace, home to His Late Majesty King Jigme Wangchuck, and the auspicious prayer wheels next door. Further up the valley is the grand Kurjey Lhakhang, considered one of Bhutan’s most hallowed monuments, that was once the resting place of Guru Rinpoche, and Jambay Lhakhang, home to the early winter festivals that draw thousands of locals for their annual blessings.

Heading back into town and across the Bumthang Chhu is the sin-alleviating Tamshing Monastery, followed by visit to the valley’s unique cottage industries – Red Panda Brewery, Bumthang Cheese/Dairy Facility and the Bumthang Distillery, home to many distinctive spirits.
