Located amidst paddy fields, about 20 minutes’ drive from Paro airport and 10 minutes’ away from Paro city centre, Dema Village Homestay features a two-storied traditional structure offering opportunity to experience classical Bhutanese hospitality at its best. Connecting traditional with modern, this typical Bhutanese village house has been passed down from four generations and serves as a fitting backdrop for storytelling and folktales while serving as a reminder of the area’s colourful past. The homestay serves authentic Bhutanese meal and delicacies together with ever popular ema datshi (chilli and cheese preparation). The vegetables on the plate are produced from self-maintained kitchen garden while the red rice is harvested from terrace fields around. During stay here, one can also observe the routing task performed in village fields and enjoy the village life. Without a few rounds of archery shooting at the archery range in front of the house, the experience is never complete of stay at this charming homestay. After a day hike, slipping into the traditional hot stone bath and sipping a home brewed ara (local alcoholic beverage) is relaxing experience.
