Permit for Indian Travellers

ndian travelers planning to visit Bhutan must obtain a permit, regardless of whether they hold an Indian passport or an Indian voter ID card. This permit can be acquired in advance through us or processed upon arrival at the port of entry. However, we recommend obtaining the permit in advance to minimize wait times and ensure quicker clearance at the port of entry.

To process the Entry Permit, we require a color scan copy of either the passport or the voter ID card. The passport must be valid for at least six months from the intended date of departure from the Kingdom. For children under 18 years old, either a valid passport or a birth certificate (with child's name) is necessary, and they must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Additionally, a recent passport-size photograph is required for processing the permit. As of now, there is no fee for obtaining the permit, and we do not charge any permit fees if the tour is booked with us. However, Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of INR 1200 per person per night is applicable for all travellers in age group exceeding 12 years. Children aged 6 to 12 years of age at the time of travel, receive a 50% concessionary discount on their SDF and those aged 5 or younger are fully exempted.
