Distances & Driving Time between places of Tourist Interest
Most of the transport within Bhutan is by surface and though there are domestic airports in central (Bumthang), eastern (Trashigang) and south-central (Gelephu) part of the country but with limited flights and seating capacity. Also since most of the tourist destinations falls on a lateral route so entire surface tour program logistically works out reasonably more convenient. There is no train service in the country. The motorable roads in Bhutan are nicely made, well maintained and conveniently connect most of the places. However the mountainous terrain, winding roads and the goal to enjoy the stupendous mountain scenery, the average driving speed of a vehicle is maintained at about 35 km per hour.
